Girls in plastic cases

flash long hair and smiles.

Elbows stuck at permanent angles,

fingers bound in plastic;

skirts barely brushing skin,

heels forever raised.

Wings are turned to blurs

even when still,

seen through plastic and glass

and a million rules.
